上海外国语大学留学预科 （https://www.liuxue114.com/shangwai/） 报道 首先Transportation是个非常实用的专业(虽然也有很理论的部分，比如Traffic Theory)，但是门槛很低，它解决的都是比较实际的问题，所以从funding这个角度来说，会有很多，因为你的research结果会直接对提供funding的公司或者政府部门产生帮助，比如解决congestion问题，建立on-line system什么的。但是同时带来问题就是它所需要的理论就会相对弱一些，几门核心课就可以开始迈进这个行业，而且可以说现在的Transportation还处于借用别的学科来解决问题的阶段，并没有一个非常清晰完整的methodology，所以说现在Transportation是一个很交叉的学科，和许多领域都有关系，经常可以在美国做Transportation组里见到EECS，Stat的学生，举个例子来说，if you know ded system or circuit pretty well，you can easily implement your algorithm in the controller whatever OS9 or Linux system. Also knowing how to do imaging processing is beneficial in the filed of traffic detection. Even in the transportation data management system your expertise in data mining will make you stand out of others significantly， 当然，还有很多interdisciplinary的应用，statistical analysis，web application等等。。。从这点看，我觉得Transportation还是很有意思的，它并不是局限于理论，而是和实际生活打交道，用理论解决问题。
