On Saturday April 23rd our WUIS boys badminton team went to the French and German School's Eurocampus for a large international school tournament.  There were 12 international schools represented by over 80 badminton ps. The competition was very high and we are proud of our ps for competing at a high level.

　　Grade 8 Kevin Xing and Grade 8 Jason Huang won 2nd place in the boys U15 competitions. Grade 11 Jack Xu and Grade 10 Lupe Lu won 2nd place in the boys U19 competitions.  Congratulations for your great effort! Special thanks to Coach Lee for looking after the team.

　　羽毛球赛

　　2016年4月23日，我校男子羽毛球队外出到上海德法国际学校欧洲校园参加大型国际学校联赛。有来自12个不同国际学校的80个羽毛球选手参加了本次比赛。比赛竞争激烈的同时我们非常骄傲我校选手的高水平比赛。

　　8年级邢梓洋和黄源赢得了U15双打比赛的二等奖。11年级徐天翼和陆贝尔取得了U19双打比赛的二等奖。为他们的努力和成绩致敬！也感谢李教练的带队。

　　MUN

　　"Meanwhile in the same campus the German and French School hosted the Euro MUN Conference.  During the 2 day conferences about 80 students from 5 different international schools represented delegates from different countries.  The EMUN theme this year was "The Sustainable Development Goals: Setting a Global Agenda."

　　The conference simulated three committees namely the General Assembly (GA) the Human Rights Council (HRC) and the Security Council (SC). The issues the students discussed were ensuring the safety and security of refugees protecting the rights and welfare of civilian populations in ISIL areas of influence taking action against human trafficking strengthening international cooperation in the fight against HIV/AIDS forestalling the militarization of the Arctic Circle and addressing the violence in Nigeria perpetrated by Boko Haram.

　　WUIS Coach Memo Mata was a guest speaker in the General Assembly during the Refugee Debate because of his former military experience and gave the students a unique insight to the refugee crises from his own experiences.  This was the last MUN conference ever for our WUIS MUN club and everyone did great.

　　Throughout the conference our students gained confidence by finding resolutions to these issues through debating and speeches. In the end our students made new friends with students from around the world while learn the skills needed to one day be a future leader.  Great Job WUIS MUN Club!

　　模拟联合国

　　与此同时在同一个校园，德法学校又主办了欧盟模拟联合国。 在两天的会议期间，有5个国际学校的80个学生与会代表不同的国家。今年的欧盟联合国讨论主题是“可持续发展目标：设立一个全球议事日程。”会议有三个委员会：联合国大会（GA），人权理事会（HRC）以及安全理事会（SC）。

　　学生们讨论的问题是在受影响的伊拉克和黎凡特伊斯兰国难民的安全问题以及保护公民的权益和福利，并针对人口贩卖进行打击，加强对于艾滋病的国际合作，预防北极圈的军事化以及着手解决尼日利亚博科圣地的暴力入侵。

　　作为客座演讲人无锡协和领队Coach Mata在难民问题辩论时在大会进行了演讲，他讲述了他以前军人的经验以及从他自己的救援难民的经历，这些宝贵的经验让与会学生们可以从一个独特的视角去思考。

　　我校模拟联合国成员表现出色。在整个会议的过程中，我校学生在寻找解决方案的辩论和演讲中获得了无比的自信。我们的学生在比赛过程中结交了来自世界各地的朋友们，与此同时也学习了成为未来领导者的技能。 无锡协和模拟联合国队为你自豪！
