上海包玉刚实验学校近日在松江区泰晤士小镇的寄宿制中学部，举行了创校5周年庆典活动，2700名学生、贵宾、家长和员工参加。

　　包玉刚实验学校是已故船王包玉刚爵士的家族在上海捐资创办的非营利性学校，由包玉刚长女包陪庆女士及其子——苏文骏先生，秉承“今日兴学，为明日中国”的宗旨亲自参与建设和管理。自2007年创办以来，学校已受到社会各界的广泛认可和欢迎，其小学部实行与中英文双语教育，中学部则以伊顿等英美一流寄宿学校为模范，实行寄宿制教育。此次5周年校庆典礼中亦宣布了其中学部的正式成立。

　　作为一所国际化的中国学校，包校的发展一直受到海内外多方人士的支持和关注。曾获诺贝尔物理学奖的杨振宁教授，专程赶来参加庆典并致辞，同时亦为以其名字命名的包校中学部教学楼剪彩。据悉，此次命名是杨教授首次为中学的教学楼命名。此次前来参加庆典的还包括中国教育部原副部长吴启迪教授，上海市政府翁铁慧副秘书长、上海市教委尹后庆副主任，以及松江区区长俞太尉、副区长于宁等相关领导。

　　包玉刚先生生前积极支持教育事业，曾捐资兴建交通大学图书馆、宁波大学等，巨款设立中英友好基金、浙江大学基金会等。此次，包氏四姐妹包陪庆、包陪容、包陪丽、包陪慧，联合为包校中学部捐赠了图书馆以纪念母亲黄秀英女士。包陪庆女士的先生苏海文博士为学校捐赠了礼堂，包陪慧亦为包校捐赠了游泳池。

　　此次庆典活动中还揭幕了两座艺术品：包校中学部大门口的由法国艺术家Natalie Decoster创作的“寸阴是惜”，以及高达四层楼的香港艺术家甘志强创作的“火箭”。
